Our New Shark Hoover
His Majesty is a FURNADO. A quick petting session = fur EVERYWHERE. And that's with daily brushing. Blame his 15% German Shepherd genetics, his 15% Siberian Husky Genetics, and his bit of Pembroke Welsh Corgi too. All breeds known for shedding a lot (his main breed, not so much, but then not much is known about them beyond their core bred-for function). He also sheds more depending on how confident he feels throughout the day.
After 6 years of our old Shark carpet hoover, one move which partially broke it and it still worked for a year and a half, I finally admitted it was time for a new one - the old one just wasn't doing a good job anymore. Too old, too damaged...
Our new one was bought directly from Amazon and it immediately proved better. A tiny bit lighter, but with powerful suction, even for a new one. And even better? His Majesty seemed to be content just to watch it (as long as it didn't go near his toys).

Kong Rewards Food Toy Ball
We've had ours since July 2019, and it's still one of His Majesty's favourite interactive food toys. We've used it on 3 different dry food brands without issue, it's quieter than most food toys, and it's easy to wipe down (the outside) to clean. It's hard-wearing and chew-proof too.

Zellar Treat Dispensing Dog Toy
We've had ours since November 2018, and it's the quicker one to fill compared to the Kong version above. This one has also been used with multiple dry food brands, as well as chopped up freshly cooked chicken, but one of the things I really like about this one is how you can easily clean the inside too because the top section rotates off. This one can be infuriatingly nosy on hardwood floors though as it's hard plastic, whilst the Kong is slightly softer. One of the other things I love about this one is that there is a way to change the size of the dispensing hole, meaning you can make it release less dry food per wobble. My dog has learned over the years to try and trap this one against a wall or corner, so he can then lay down and be lazy, poking it with his nose to dispense the next mouthful, but hands down, as his pet parent, I love this one a lot too.

Ancol LED Dog Collar
In January 2026, I noticed our old LED Furry Friends collar was struggling to keep it's charge, so off we went to our local pet shop and picked up this lovely replacement.
I cut it to size - which was easy and safe - and within seconds the collar was ready for use. With morning walkies going back to being before the sun's greetings, and evenings walkies being in the dark too, this collar has been absolutely invaluable for helping prevent unwanted dog-to-dog interactions when His Majesty didn't want to sniff someone else's butt or get his own sniffed.

Butternut Dog Food
When I sought improved nutritional food for His Majesty, it was Butternut that delivered what I was looking for. Something that improved his fur health, that he wouldn't turn his nose up at, something I could hide his flea preventative medication in and he'd still eat it (even if he saw me hide it), something he didn't get bored of, something with a range of flavours ... Butternut was it. It can be a little more on the pricey side compared to dry or old-fashioned wet food, but they do give the option to customise the amount per packet, so if you only want to do half your dog's daily needs via Butternut to keep costs down, that's absolutely do-able. And that's what I do. (And for full transparency: I will eventually go 100% Butternut when we start making additional regular income.)
It's freezeable, and I admittedly cheat and keep it in the freezer and defrost it in the microwave before serving His Majesty. Everyone I've recommended try it have found that their dog's health improved in some shape or form - His Majesty's eating it improved his coat's thickness and glossiness! So give it a go. You can always cancel if you decide it's not for you. I also recommend their Good for Guts extra as it helps His Majesty's stomach when it's having ... let's say liquidy issues ;)
